The Rolex Submariner reference 5513 is one of the purest expressions of the Submariner line – no date, no excess, just a clean, functional tool watch that has become one of the most coveted watches amongst vintage Rolex collecting.
This is an excellent, original example from 1976, featuring the its matte “Serif” dial and the sought-after original “long 5” bezel insert, a small but significant detail that collectors value highly.
The watch has developed a beautiful, even patina across the dial, hands and bezel insert. The tritium lume has aged to a warm, creamy tone, complementing the faded insert – the kind of honest ageing that gives a 5513 its character and aesthetic appeal.
